What is Reiki?
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF REIKI?
Reiki provides energetic nourishment to both maintain and enhance Healing and Health.
CAN REIKI PRACTITIONERS HEAL ANYONE?
No, only you can Heal yourself. The Reiki Practitioner is simply a “conduit” through whom Reiki Energy can be drawn by the Recipient. It must be your Intent to use the Energy for Healing.
HOW DOES REIKI DIFFER FROM OTHER TOUCH TECHNIQUES?
Reiki has some very unique positive aspects! Foremost is that – because the Practitioner is a “conduit” for Reiki, it is not their personal Energy that is transferred to the Recipient. Thus, the Giver experiences no sense of loss or depletion. Nor is there any transfer of dis-ease processes between the two parties. Also, though Reiki is usually given through light touch, it can also be “sent” over distances. Additionally, Reiki may be the only Energy System currently in use in which the Healing Treatments can be given to oneself!
WHY DOES REIKI COST MONEY?
When Dr. Mikao Usui (re)discovered Reiki in the mid-1800’s, he found through experience that in order for Reiki to occur, there must be some form of Energy-exchange between the Giver and the Receiver. Money, as a compressed form of Energy, is the usual exchange, yet not the only one. Many Reiki Practitioners reserve the right to modify fees, or accept other appropriate forms of exchange.
WHAT IS A REIKI TREATMENT LIKE?
Laying supine, fully clothed, you will feel the Practitioner lightly touching various areas of your body. Most people are able to feel the profound heat radiating from the Giver’s hands … a by-product of the Reiki Energy. Some are able to actually feel the Energy, itself, flowing into them. Many become so relaxed, they simply fall asleep.
IS REIKI A RELIGION?
No. There is neither dogma, nor any tenants of faith in Reiki. It is a simple, natural,
Energy Balancing technique.
WOULD REIKI CONFLICT WITH MY PRESENT MEDICAL TREATMENT?
Reiki is never intended to replace necessary medical or psycho-therapeutic treatment. It can, however, enhance the benefits of all such modalities, as well as providing relief from the discomfort of the often invasive procedures and medications used in allopathic medicine.
CAN REIKI HELP A PERSON WHO IS DYING?
Yes, very much. Reiki can alleviate the fear, anger, and discomfort often experienced
during transition. It can also be used to alleviate the stress and tension of caregivers and grieving loved ones.
MUST I BELIEVE IN REIKI FOR IT TO WORK?
Existence is not dependent upon Belief. You don’t have to believe an apple is delicious …
just take a bite!
